Button-tree Canvas

30 Nov

It’s Christmas shopping time. I love Christmas shopping. I have to take a moment to brag, because this past weekend I finished ALL of my Christmas shopping.  I am not the best shopper and I had over 15 family members to buy gifts for -so I am pretty proud of myself. Finishing all of my shopping before December is definitely a new personal record.

I love gift-giving, I love wrapping. And I especially love homemade and handmade gifts, gifts that tell a story, gifts made with love and creativity.

Here is a crafty gift that I made last year. The only materials needed are buttons, paint, a hot glue gun and a canvas. You can tweak this project and add your own creative spin on it. Get crafty this holiday season!

Cayenne-Rubbed Chicken with Avocado Salsa

28 Nov

“Trust in the Lord and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him.” -Psalm 37:3-5

This is a very easy dinner to make and the cool, buttery avocado makes a delicious salsa. Enjoy!

Cake Batter Rice Krispie Treats

15 Nov

Psalm 37:4 has been on my heart this week, “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

This verse (along with a devotional) reminds me that if you’ve fully resigned yourself into God’s hands, then you’re able to endure  hardships. Your Father’s desire is for you to be able to go about your daily tasks without fear or anxiety, totally trusting in his care. And your resignation to him has a very practical effect in your life. The more resigned you are to God’s care and keeping, the more indifferent you’ll be to the conditions around you.

ALSO, I absolutely love sprinkles and cake batter flavored anything. This cakey-flavored crispy treat is really easy and delicious.
